Pastor Perpetua Abongnelah
Perpetua Abongnelah (AKA ‘Pastor Pepsi’) is a Pastor and Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) in Maryland, United States. She currently serves as the senior Pastor of Perpetual Trees of Righteousness Ministries (PTORM) and as a social worker/Therapist at an outpatient Mental health facility in Maryland. She is married to Richard Abongnelah, and is blessed with three beautiful children. Her passion for the lost, the indigent and people who are hurting motivated her to pursue a career in social work. She has dedicated her life as a social worker/Therapist to empower individuals and families by providing them the support they need and also by connecting them to resources that can enhance their social functioning and overall well being. As pastor, she reaches out to the brokenhearted in her community, city, and around the world by preaching to them the message of Hope and salvation of our precious Lord Jesus Christ.
Pastor Perpetua Abongnelah received the salvation of Jesus Christ in 2001. When she received salvation, in the same year, she received a word of knowledge from a servant of God telling her that she was called to be a Pastor. This word was later confirmed by several other pastors and prophets over the years; but, she did not accept the call of Jesus until 2008 in the United Kingdom. During this time, she was facing some difficult life challenges in her family. As she sought the Lord Jesus for answers and for a breakthrough in her challenges, she was once again told by a Pastor that she needed to surrender to the Lord and to her calling before she could find rest. She was told by this pastor in the UK that she was “facing Jonah’s experience”. She was encouraged to read the story of Jonah in the Holy Bible to better understand and conceptualize her situation. As she read the story of Jonah, she started trembling and was filled with a realization. She immediately made up her mind to say “YES” to the Lord and to the calling on her life.
As she surrendered to the call of Jesus, she was supernaturally restored from her challenges within one week. Pastor Pepsi began to see and experience the supremacy of the Lord Jesus and she decided to dedicate her life in service to Jesus and His Will. She started her Pastoral journey at The New Anointing Church (TNAC) in London, England in 2008 where she served until 2011, when she relocated to the US. She continued in her role as a Pastor at a TNAC Branch church in Washington DC. She completed her assignment in TNAC in 2016 and was commissioned by the Lord to start a ministry that will reach out and proclaim liberty and healing unto the brokenhearted and the lost. A ministry that would raise up a ‘forest’ of people who might be called ‘trees of righteousness’, the planting of the Lord so that the Lord may be glorified. Thus, the name of the ministry was birthed. (Isaiah 61:1-4).
Pastor Pepsi’s life has been transformed by the impartation of anointing from God’s servants such as; Pastor Benny Hinn (who imparted, baptized and ordained her), Dr Morris Cerullo, Dr Rodney Howard, and many others.
What We Believe
GOD
We believe that God is eternal and is the creator of all things. He is the I AM who has revealed himself as one God existing in three persons: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. The Godhead has distinguished characteristics but co-exist and are co-equal in nature. “unto us a son is given: and his name shall be called wonderful, counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.” 2 Corinthians 3:7, Colossians 2:9, 2 Corinthians 3:17, Isaiah 9:6, John 10:30-36, Colossians 1: 15-19, John 14: 16-17.
THE LORD JESUS
We believe that The Lord Jesus is the eternal Son of God. He is the word of God who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born by the virgin, Mary. We believe that He died to save the world, he resurrected from the dead, ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father. We believe that he will return in power and glory to judge the earth. “Behold, he comes with clouds…” John 3:16, Matthew 1:18, John 1:1-14, Matthew 28:5-6, Act 1:9-12, Mark 16:19, John 14:1-3, Matthew 15:31-46, Revelation 1:7
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the deity of the Holy Spirit, and that He is the Spirit of Truth, who was sent by God the Father and by Jesus Christ to dwell in us. He dwells in us to teach us, to help us , to comfort us, to sanctify and to guide us in life. All things are possible for it truly is not by might, not by power, but by the holy spirit of the living God. God reveals to the secret things by his Spirit and the Spirit of God has endowed unto us many gifts for our edification and for the glory of the living Lord. John 16:13, John 15:26, Acts 4:31, 2 Corinthians 3:17.
THE BIBLE
We believe that the Bible is the authoritative Holy Word of God which reveals His love to the world. It inspires, instructs, and equips all mankind to success in every area of their lives. The word of God is very important and it is imperative as christians to continue to renew our minds daily with it. “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” John 3:16, Psalms 119:105, 2 Timothy 3:16.
SALVATION
We believe that all mankind has sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God, and that the wages of sin is death. But, God sent His only begotten son Jesus Christ to this world to save all of us from our sins and also to reconcile us with God through His death. We believe that Jesus is the only way for the salvation of all mankind. Anyone who believes in him and calls upon his name shall be saved. Salvation is a gift of God that can be activated by faith and not by works. Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Luke 19:10, John 14:6, 2 Corinthians 5:15, 1 Thessalonians 5:10, Romans 10:13, Ephesians 2:8-9.
A HOLY LIFE
We believe in living a holy life by being sanctified daily with the word of God. A holy life can be lived through the help of the Holy Spirit and by the grace of the living God. The Holy Bible teaches us that our God is Holy and as his children, we must be holy for without holiness, no one will see the Lord. “Be ye holy, for I am holy.” We believe that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, and as such, we are no longer our own. We belong to the Lord and it is our prerogative to keep our bodies pure and holy. Hebrew 12:14, Ezekiel 33:12. John 17:17, 1 Peter 1: 15-16, 1 Corinthians 3:16-17.
ETERNITY
We believe in life after death, and that everyone who is sleeping in Jesus Christ will spend eternity with God in Heaven. Those who die in sin will spend eternity in Hell. We believe that our faith and belief in the Lord God Almighty activates a life of eternity that begins now here on the earth. “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life.” Jesus said that he is the resurrection and the life. Anyone who lives by believing in Jesus will never die. John 3:16, 1 John 5:13, Romans 6:23, John 5:24, John 11:25-26, Mathew 25:46, 2 Thesolonians 1:9, Revelations 21:1-5.
GOD'S GRACE
We believe that regardless of our sin, God’s Grace is available to save everyone who comes to Him, repents, and turns from their sinful ways in the name of His Son Jesus. “ He called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began.” The Lord is our righteousness and thus, we can approach the throne of grace with confidence that the Lord will always hear our cry so that we may receive mercy in our time of need. 2 Corinthians 12:9, 2 Corinthians 12:8, 2 Chronicles 7:14, Romans 6:14-15, Hebrews 4:16, 2 Timothy 1:9.
BAPTISM (WATER, HOLY SPIRIT AND FIRE)
We believe in water baptism by full immersion for the repentance and the cleansing of our outward selves and actions. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit for the cleansing of our mind and our inward selves and we also believe in the baptism of fire for cleansing of our hearts. We believe in the speaking of tongues for power to be witnesses unto the Lord Jesus. “They were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.” Mathew 3:11, Act 1:8, Act 2:3-4.
EVANGELISM
We believe in the great commission of Jesus Christ, which was given to every believer to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.” It’s our commission to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and the hope of salvation unto the world, so that all who hear it may only believe. Mark 16:15, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Romans 10:1, Acts 20:19-20, Acts 1: 8, 1 Thessalonians 1:5, Acts 22:14-15.
HOLY COMMUNION
We believe that we must consistently eat the Holy Communion as commanded by the Lord Jesus until he comes. He commanded us to eat the bread which is his body and to drink the cup which is his blood that was shed for us. Thus, we show the Lord’s death and do it in remembrance of what he did for this world. “Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, in remembrance of me.” 1 Corinthians 11:17-30, John 6:53-58
